What are some great books to read for the aspiring options trader?  I compiled a list of the must haves for the soon to be options trader.  I can’t stress to do you homework enough before you start to trade options because you can get it handed to you seven ways to Sunday if you’re not careful and well educated on the true risks present in this market.

  1. Option Volatility & Pricing by Natenburg.  Classic!
  2. Dynamic Hedging by Taleb…Stellar book and my personal favorite!
  3. The Volatility Surface by Gatheral.  Great book but I recommend a strong math background before cracking it open.
  4. Volatility Trading by Sinclair (Filthy…..NuclearPhynance.com).  Good book with alot of content with regards to strategies.
  5. Options Trading: The Hidden Reality by Charles Cottle.  This one has a special place in my hear….I absolutely love it!  Google RISK DOCTOR for more on Mr. Cottle.
  6. Option Market Making: Trading and Risk Analysis for the Options Markets by Baird.
